She bullied, bluffed, and bribed her students into caring about school. Great book and much better than the movie. Probably one of the books that need to be read by teachers.
This is my first book I have read of hers and I think she is an amazing writer.

There are great scenes in the book and reminded me of the movie- and oh gosh, did i like that movie. So many stories told that scared her and got her thinking. At times in the movie, Ms. She pushes them to their limits and makes them realize their potential. She helps them with their lives and gives them strength to brighten their future; she never gives up on her kids.
